Killer Pig av Sharon Eyal

Killer Pig is made exclucively for the female dancers of Carte Blanche and is the first piece Sharon Eyal has made for and with another company outside Batsheva Dance Company. Killer Pig continuse the choreographers toying with the sensual in all its diversity in a minimalistic and intence physical expression. In Killer Pig the dancers are dressed in costumes enforcing an androgynous nudity. The entergetic performance express contrasts - the pure and the raw, the beauty and the appaling and sometimes the grotesque in the erotic.

Sharon Eyal

Born in Israel, 1971 Eyal has been dancing with Batsheva Dance Company for more than a decade. From a leading dancer, a source of inspiration to choreographers and creators, she grew up to be a talented choreographer with a unique and personal language, leading each and every of her dancers to express his own personal and unique character.

Eyal is renowned for her uniquely personal and powerful movement vocabulary that is often submerged with delicately negotiated hence explicit references to sensuality. Dance critic Gabi Aldor describes it as follows; “the clarity of movement in Eyal’s dances is such that feminine splendor becomes a magnificence greater than life, worthy of goddesses. Her approach is a fresh reminder of an alternative femininity, maybe similar to that of Madonna who fearlessly re-invents herself every day.”

Eyal restaged Love for Carte Blanche in 2005 and produced Killer Pig for the female dancers in the company in 2009.
In addition to being a dancer, Sharon was Associate Artistic Director of the Batsheva Dance Company between September 2003 and December 2004. Since 2005 Sharon is the Batsheva Dance Company House Choreographer.
